Introduction of ultrafine glass hollow bead reinforced resin composites

Anhui, China: The Hefei Research Institute of Materials Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has adopted a self-developed modification agent and a composite process on the surface of ultra-fine microspheres so that the hollow microspheres can be uniformly dispersed in the polymer matrix. The microspheres have a good interface with the matrix. Combine to obtain ultra-fine hollow bead/polymer composites with high overall performance.

It is understood that the modified PP (polypropylene) with 20% hollow microspheres has a notched impact strength increased by 80%~100% compared with that of pure PP, and the tensile modulus and bending modulus increase by more than 50%. The strength has also been increased, and only the tensile strength has remained substantially unchanged or decreased slightly. Ultrafine hollow microspheres are inorganic materials and have better wear resistance than polypropylene. In addition, it has a reflective effect on UV rays and can improve the UV resistance of composite materials.

According to reports, the use of ultra-fine hollow microspheres in fly ash modified polymers, on the one hand can play the characteristics of hollow microspheres, so that the polymer's mechanical properties, wear resistance, heat insulation, insulation properties, etc. have been greatly improved. Get high performance polymer new materials. On the other hand, the masterbatch made of such modified ultrafine hollow microbeads suitable for polypropylene or polyethylene can greatly improve the mechanical properties, wear resistance and heat insulation properties of the products through blending and addition. Reducing material costs is very suitable for injection molding products where the material has high rigidity and toughness requirements.
