Recently, the Nantong Institute of Materials Engineering Technology, a joint venture between Nanjing University and the local government, unveiled its latest breakthroughs, showcasing six innovative products, including a groundbreaking glasses-free 3D microscope that is now leading the way in both China and globally.
The glasses-free 3D technology allows viewers to experience three-dimensional images without the need for special eyewear, marking a significant milestone as the first such microscope developed in China. This advanced device uses a high-resolution display to magnify microscopic objects with exceptional clarity and depth perception. It can even enlarge particles smaller than 5 mm to the size of an egg, making detailed observation more accessible and intuitive.
Established in 2010, the Nantong Institute of Materials Engineering Technology has been dedicated to advancing cutting-edge material research and promoting the application of Nanjing University's scientific achievements in the Nantong region. Its mission includes transforming research outcomes into practical solutions that support local economic development. Today, the institute has built one of the most comprehensive material microstructure analysis platforms in the country, filling a critical gap in high-resolution electron microscopy within Nantong and the broader Yangtze River Delta region.
With ongoing innovation and strong industry collaboration, the institute continues to push the boundaries of materials science, contributing significantly to both academic research and industrial applications. Its latest developments not only highlight technological progress but also demonstrate the growing influence of collaborative research in driving regional growth and global competitiveness.
