Meng Lingyan, chairman of the China Daily Glass Association, said that because of the low level of repeated construction, the structural contradictions of daily glass products are prominent, the production capacity is relatively surplus, and the supply of middle and low-end products is oversupplied, while the high-end products need a lot of imports. “We said that adjusting the structure is largely to adjust the product structure and develop some high-end products.†Gao Yanmin, deputy director of the Consumer Products Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stressed that there is a lot of work to be done in developing high-end products. It is understood that in the “12th Five-Year Plan†guidance of the daily glass industry, the development of high-end daily-use glass products has been taken as an important direction of the “Twelfth Five-Year Planâ€, and it is proposed to develop light-weight glass according to the upgrade trend of domestic consumer demand. Bottles, brown beer bottles, high-quality pharmaceutical glass, borosilicate glassware, high-grade glassware, crystal glass products, glass art, lead-free crystal glass, special varieties of glass, etc.
Currently in the market, some high-end daily-use glass products are increasingly sought after by consumers. Meng Lingyan said that in the "2011 China International Light Industry Exhibition" held in Beijing in August this year, some high-end daily-use glass products, such as heat-resistant glass baby bottles, heat-resistant glassware, goblet, crystal products Glass works of art caused great repercussions. The exhibition did not end and some exhibits were ordered.
In the interview, the reporter also learned that more and more companies recognize the importance of developing high-end products. Dan Xingsong, chairman of Danyang Shuangfeng Glass Co., Ltd., told reporters that they have been making full-scale production of high-end products since 2004. At present, the unit price of medicinal glass bottles they produce is ten times more expensive than similar products, in the case of sluggish market conditions. However, their products are still in short supply.
