Low temperature, fast curing conductive adhesive

A low-temperature, fast-curing, conductive adhesive from Emerson & Cuming has made it possible to mass-produce electronic tags at low cost.

EASC-XCE 3112 conductive adhesives cure quickly in seconds, allowing electronic labels to be produced on-line at hundreds of parts per minute, reducing the need for expensive curing ovens. EASC XCE 3112 can cure at temperatures below 110°C and has good compatibility with low-cost, temperature-sensitive substrates. This conductive adhesive has excellent process consistency and can be used at room temperature for more than one day, eliminating the need for cleaners to clean the station and saving labor hours and materials. “The provision of a binder that quickly cures in a matter of seconds at low temperatures and works at room temperature for a long time is almost impossible,” said the manager of marketing at Emmas & Coombinland.

In addition, this conductive adhesive, combined with a ribbon chip or antenna containing silver conductive ink, can also provide stable contact resistance and radio frequency efficiency. Its good rheology is suitable for jet printing and flexographic printing.
