In a university in Xi'an, college students have put their professional knowledge to the test by building a homemade "rocket." Today, Dr. Dennis from the Erig Rocket Association at the Technical University of Braunschweig in Germany traveled all the way to Xi'an to learn about rocketry from these young engineers.
Kang Boyi, a student from Northwestern Polytechnical University, explained: "Our rockets incorporate some cutting-edge technologies. The tail and the body-connected ring are made using 3D printing technology. The nose cone is also 3D printed, while the rocket body is constructed from phenolic cloth. Even the engine is made from water pipes." Though these rockets may look simple, they actually combine aerospace engineering, aerodynamics, and electronic information systems. The students have been working hard for several days, and today was the moment of truth—when all their efforts would be put to the test.
"Ready, personnel evacuate to 100 meters. Countdown... Launch!" A small rocket shot into the sky, climbed to a certain altitude, and then deployed its parachute smoothly—mirroring the process of a real space launch.
Seeing their rocket soar successfully into the air, the students felt their long hours of hard work had finally paid off. One student said, "I was extremely excited to see the successful launch. It has motivated me even more to pursue my studies and career in this field. I hope to go further and do better in the future."
Dr. Dennis, an expert from the Erig Rocket Association in Germany, remarked, "Chinese students are very similar to German students. They are proud, creative, and full of potential. I believe there's a bright future for Sino-German collaboration in science and technology."
