New aldehyde-free adhesives have a promising market

From the high-tech press conference in Langfang City, we learned that a new type of aldehyde-free adhesive that can meet the requirements of “green” building materials was successfully developed by Beijing University of Chemical Technology and has recently been promoted throughout the country. The product is developed on the basis of water-based polymer adhesives. It has the advantages of non-polluting production process, non-toxic use process, low cost, long active period, moderate viscosity, good pre-pressure resistance and aging resistance, etc. The use cost is equivalent to the E1 grade environmental protection urea-formaldehyde glue, but the physical properties of the plywood are obviously improved. According to industry insiders, phenolic and urea-formaldehyde glues used in plywood currently have the problem of releasing formaldehyde, which is a serious threat to human health. Although the amount of E1 urea-formaldehyde formaldehyde released from the environment has met the environmental protection requirements, the physical properties of the sheet have been significantly reduced. The use of new aldehyde-free adhesives has effectively solved these two problems and has a promising market. Source: China Polymer Network
