When the number of rotations of the sheet feed roller is equal to the number of color segments, the sheet staying on the sheet feed roller is conveyed to the impression cylinder. As the drum rotates, one of the impression cylinder grippers and one of the feed cylinder grippers intermittently interdigitate. When the impression cylinder grippers hold the paper on the impression cylinder, at the aforementioned staggered times, the feed cylinder gripper moves away from the impression cylinder gripper.
