Some other settings of HQ-510 RIP

(This article is an original article from Bisheng. It is forbidden to reprint, and reprinting must be corrected)

We have introduced the film linearization setting and page setting of HQ-510 RIP twice. Below we will take the screen FT-R5055 imagesetter as an example to introduce some other settings of HQ-510 RIP.

1. Output Device Management (Device Manager)

This item is used to set the output device to be connected to RIP. The setting method is to select the Device Manager menu in the HQ-510PM (HQ-510PC if it is a PC RIP) menu of HQ RIP, click the left mouse button to select it, and the menu shown below appears.

After installing the software for the first time, there is no output device in the column below Figure 1, you need to add it yourself. Select the New button below to display the following menu.

Type the name of the device given by the user in the Name field, so that you can choose from other settings later. The name of the installed device is in the drop-down menu behind Type, just select it. If the name of the connected device is not found, it means that the device driver is not installed, as long as it is installed, you can see it in this column. Address (address) does not need to be filled in by the user, just leave it blank, RIP will automatically find the device. After setting, press OK.

2. Configure RIP parameters (Configure RIP)

This item is mainly used to set some parameters of RIP. In the HQ-510PM of HQ RIP (or HQ-510PC in the case of PC RIP), select the Configure RIP menu and click the left mouse button to select it. The following menu appears.

Usually the output process of a PS file is: typesetting software → Network buffer → Workspace → CPU → Page buffer → Printer buffer → Imagesetter, Therefore, the setting of the space of these buffers is very critical in the dispatching project, which directly affects the speed of dispatching. These items are set in this project. After installing the software, Workspace folder and Page buffer folder have default folders, which generally do not need to be changed. If the user needs to change this folder, they can click the Change button below to modify it. Page buffering is the file buffering working mode. There are four options in the drop-down menu at the back: Multiple (Parallel) is for multitasking at the same time. It can receive data, process it, and output the processed data at the same time. This option is highly efficient. , It is recommended to use this item; Multiple does one job for receiving data, processing, and outputting several tasks before proceeding to the next job; Single (if required) is to only use memory space during the work process, and will use it when it is not enough Hard disk space; Single uses only memory space and only does one job at a time. Compress page buffer item is to store data in compression. After selecting this item, the data will be compressed and stored to save space. It is recommended to choose it. The data behind the Network buffer can be adjusted according to the number of computers connected to the RIP on the network. The general data is a multiple of 1024, usually set to 8192. The data behind the Printer buffer is generally related to the model of the imagesetter connected to the RIP. Usually, when the screen FT-R5055 and FT-R3050 imagesetter are connected, the value is set to 16384, and this data should also be a multiple of 1024. The time set after Job timeout is the maximum time for a job. When a job exceeds this time, RIP will automatically interrupt the job, so this value should not be too small, the default data after basic installation can be .

The items that appear after clicking the Extras button next to them are some of HQ's special technologies that need to be purchased separately. After clicking Options, the following menu appears.

In this menu, we need to introduce three items. One is Disk space left for system. When the hard disk uses this megabyte, the previous files will be automatically deleted. For the FT-R5055 machine, it is recommended The value is set to 20MB. For the FT-R3050, the initial value after installation can be used; the second is the Band size for printing buffer (the amount of data transferred to the print buffer). This item controls the amount of data transmitted each time, generally set to 512KB ; The third is Allow stop / start (allow to stop waiting). After this item is selected, the data is not transmitted when the imagesetter is exposed, and the exposure will stop to wait for the data. Generally, this item is only used for exposure faster than RIP roller imagesetter, for winch imagesetters such as FT-R5055, FT-R3050, do not need to select this item.

3. Cassette Manager

In the Output menu of HQ RIP, select the Cassette Manager menu, click the left mouse button to select, and the menu shown below appears.

After clicking Edit or New, the following menu appears.

Name is the name of the clip, Media Type is the type of media, Media Width is the width of the media, Remaining Length is the remaining length of the media, the above items are filled in by the user. Number is the position of the film feeder. Unit is the unit of media width and remaining length. After setting, click OK to complete the setting of the feeder.

Through several articles, we have basically introduced the settings of the HQ-510 RIP to the readers. We will not introduce some other items that are not commonly used. I hope these articles will be helpful to everyone.
