Basel Injection Molding Fuel Tank Special Resin

Basel has developed a new high-density polyethylene grade Lupolen 4261A IM, which enables the challenging requirements faced by customers who are involved in the injection molding of automotive fuel tanks.

The test data of Lupolen 4261A IM show that the resin can exhibit good mechanical properties, and can obtain excellent ESCR (environmental stress crack resistance) and excellent low temperature impact resistance. Moreover, it has good chemical compatibility with Other plastic grades used as fuel tank housings. The new grades use Basel's patented Spherilene process and Avant C chromium catalysts. This material is currently produced in Europe and can be sold around the world.

Hendrik, Europe's fuel tank business manager, said: "Experimental testing, computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulations and machining experiments have shown that Lupolen 4261A IM can help customers produce products with excellent durability without affecting equipment yield or welding behavior. With the company's other Lupolen grades, Basel will provide complete resin solutions for all polyolefin fuel tank components."

Basel (and its predecessor company) has been developing polymer products in accordance with the strict standards used by global fuel tank manufacturers since the 1960s. Basel will strive to play a leading role in the development of polymer materials in this area and will continue to improve its product range to meet the global needs of its customers.
