HP Announces Cloudprint Mobile Phone Printing Platform

HP Labs is Hewlett-Packard's right arm in R&D. Recently, they launched a service for mobile phone users. This service helps mobile phone users to share and print documents. This new service, called "Cloudprint," makes it easy for you to share, store and print files on your mobile phone.

This service is to transfer the mobile phone files to a network file storage system (or "cloud"). On this network file storage system, files can be stored and shared, or printed as needed. After the file is uploaded, it can be read and printed using a standard web browser. According to Hewlett-Packard, "CloudPrint can prevent e-mails you send from being blocked." This often happens for computers that have firewalls installed or on restricted corporate intranets.

While publishing this platform, Hewlett-Packard hopes its "Print Service Providers" (PSP) will provide CloudPrint users with a print service network.
