New technologies are used to make polyester degradable plastics. Insulin uses starch and fatty acids as raw materials to provide E. coli with nutrients such as acetic acid or glucose, and adjusts the culture temperature and the acidity of the reaction solution to make [copolymerization] occur. The resulting degradable plastic has neatly arranged molecular structures, greatly improves ductility, and is more uniform in quality, overcoming the weaknesses of the existing degradable plastics, which are hard and brittle. This degradable plastic can be used as an auxiliary material for rubber.
Because it does not pollute the environment, biodegradable plastics have become a hot spot for research and development in countries around the world. Scientists believe that the application of transgenic technology to increase the production capacity of microorganisms can produce this material inexpensively and in large quantities.
