The origin of CIP3

The original concept was developed in December 1993, the first draft of the file format was completed in September 1994, and the prototype for testing in December made the possibility of the plan greatly increased. So 15 companies including Adobe, Agfa, Fuji, Kodak, MANRoland, Heidelberg, Polar and other pre-press, printing and post-press processing suppliers formed an alliance and formally formed the International Cooperation for Integration of Prepress Press and Postpress for short CIP 3 in February 1995, dedicated to the development and promotion of the three processes of the printing process Vertical integration. By the end of 1995, 39 organizations covering computers, operating systems, software, pre-press, printing and post-press processing equipment had participated. It was another large-scale international printing research and organization after the ICC International Color Consortium. The format developed by the alliance has been launched by the relevant manufacturers of the alliance since June 1997, and in the Drupa2000 printing layer, it can be seen that almost all printing-related software and hardware suppliers have supported the CIP3 specification.

The purpose of CIP3

Over the years, the printing industry has developed the CIP3 process, which fully computerizes the pre-press, printing and post-press processes, and converts all data into data to reduce errors caused by human factors.

The main achievement of CIP3 protocol-PPF

In today's printing trend, diversification, short version, accurate color requirements, cheaper prices, etc., are driving the printing industry to become electronic, thus avoiding any possible human error. PPF, Print Production Format, is a computer data protocol format used to enable a common electronic data format for different working platforms to make communication more direct and avoid errors and waste of time in the process of data transfer and copying. From this, a concept-CIM (Computer Integrated Print Management) was developed, which is fully computerized and integrated.
