Zip-Pak announced on April 25 that the leading Dutch packaging machine manufacturer, UVA Packaging, is the first company to introduce vertical zipper closure technology with zippers.
Newton's newly developed vertical mold filling and sealing machine Newton 400 makes it possible to use zippers for upright bag packaging. This machine uses ZIP-PAK® TD SLIDER technology to horizontally affix zippers to the top of the package. It can produce different types of flexible bags and is suitable for packaging 2-7 grams of pet foods, powder products and frozen foods.
Robert Hogan, Director of Sales and Marketing at Zip-Pak, believes that the combination of stand-up pouches and SLIDER zippers will further enhance the brand's image and have a broader market space than flat lay flat bag packaging. “The survey of target consumers also shows that people think of zipper bags as a convenient and value-added form of packaging.
