March 30, 2017 At the Citédu Temps in Geneva, François-Paul Journe celebrates another new honor in watchmaking, awarded by the Swiss Haute Horlogerie Foundation "Hommage au Talent" Genius pay tribute "award. François-Paul Journe is skilled in watchmaking and is a specialist in the repair of timepieces. In 1999, his own watchmaking workshop was opened in Geneva. His first series was released not only with his own name, but with the label "Invenit et Fecit". This is a statement borrowed from the authoritative watchmaker Jean-Antoine Lépine, which means "invented and manufactured." His works are rich in creativity and contribute to the development of timekeeping science in a contemporary manner.
François-Paul Journe won numerous awards and honors in 30 years. He was awarded the Best Watchmaker Award by Gaïa, awarded the Art and Culture Knight Medal by the Minister of Culture of France, and won seven Grand Prizes at the Geneva Timepieces Awards, three of which are the Gold Medal of the highest honor. The award was selected by an independent panel of judges supported by the Culture Commission of the Swiss Haute Firma Foundation, reaffirming François-Paul Journe's tabulation talent.
The Hommage à la Passion tribute to passion was won by Ludwig Oechslin, an erudite expert and astronomical timepiece author. Ludwig Oechslin, curator of the International Museum of Clocks and Watches, restored the precious clock created by CLDetouche in the museum's rehabilitation department for three years, which is now at the entrance to the FPJourne Geneva workshop. In this regard, FPJourne always grateful.
